Dan Layman

Senior Pastor

Dan was born and raised in southern Illinois before moving to North Carolina in 2004. Following an eight-year career as a molecular biologist, he answered the Lord’s call to full-time ministry in 2006 and went on to earn a Master of Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary (Charlotte, 2009).

After graduation from seminary, Dan served as the Associate Pastor of Ambassador Presbyterian Church (ARP) in Apex, NC where his ministry focused on teaching, missions, and administration. His family moved to Granville, OH in October 2018 when he received a call to be the Senior Pastor at The Granville Chapel. He is very excited to be among the church and community here. His goal is to lead God’s people in seeing and embracing the glory of Jesus Christ in every aspect of their lives as he commits himself to the exposition of God’s Word and the cultivation of a passionate and purposeful gospel community.

In addition to his pastoral calling, Dan is also an adjunct faculty member with Equipping Leaders International (ELI). In this role, he coordinates a partnership in Zambia that provides Biblical, theological, and practical ministry training to indigenous pastors and leaders. Before joining ELI, he previously served on the Board of Directors of West African Reformed Mission (a ministry of MTW) from 2015-2022, and taught frequently in The Gambia.

Dan has been married to Megan (an RN at Nationwide Children’s Hospital) since 2003, and they have two children, Abby Kate and Benjamin. Though an avid indoorsman who loves to read, listen to music, spend time with his family, and watch St. Louis Cardinals baseball, he does venture outdoors for an occasional walk or ride on the bike.
