James Davis

Director of Children’s Ministries

James was born and raised on the same farmland where his family currently resides in Alexandria, Ohio. He was born the youngest of five children to parents who were both middle school teachers. After high school, James graduated from The Ohio State University with a BA in Mathematics. He then began teaching middle/high school mathematics at Granville Christian Academy, while also coaching several sports.

James was introduced to his future wife, Mary, through two of his co-teachers at Granville Christian Academy (Mary’s parents). They were married in 2015 and resided in Marysville, Ohio for several years, where they welcomed their first two children. In this time period, James also earned his MA in Education from Western Governors University.

Through God’s providence, James & Mary found the Granville Chapel after moving back to Alexandria in 2019, and have been attending the Granville Chapel since then. James currently serves as a member of the Diaconate and his family of now five children (Blaise, Arden, Juliet, Thatcher & Gwyneth) has grown to love the Granville Chapel.

James enjoys being active outdoors, studying theology, listening to podcasts, and spending time with his ever-expanding extended family, which currently includes 28 nieces & nephews. He has worked in the Education field for 12+ years, and he currently oversees admissions in the Secondary Center at C-TEC of Licking County. James hopes to come alongside families to help the children of the Granville Chapel to grow in the grace & knowledge of Jesus Christ while teaching children how to apply theology to their own lives.
