Magdalene Johnson

Director of Girls Student Ministry

Magdalene was born in Illinois but lived in several places growing up, including a twelve-year stint in Wasilla, Alaska, which she considers her hometown. Her father was (and still is) an ordained minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC), and her mother homeschooled her and her four siblings. 

After graduating from Cedarville University in 2025 with a bachelor’s in Allied Health, Magdalene moved to eastern Ohio to work at a Christian camp for individuals with disabilities, which she’d worked at for a few summers in college. She started attending The Granville Chapel in the fall of that year and quickly felt at home in the faithful worship services and the welcoming community. 

Magdalene started her position as the Director of Girls Student Ministry in August of 2026. She’s found so much joy in the Lord through her own walk with him as a young woman, and she is grateful to be able to pour into younger girls in the church as she continues to grow in him.

Magdalene loves reading, cross-stitching, going to live sporting events (especially baseball!), and hiking whenever she can get to the mountains. She also loves to travel and has been to thirteen countries. She is so thankful to the Lord for bringing her to The Granville Chapel and hopes to help make it feel like home for many others.
