Romans 9:14-18 "The Sovereign Mercy of God" Sermon Series: The Jonah Excursions

Throughout the Book of Jonah, we repeatedly saw Jonah struggle with the reality of God’s mercy toward the Ninevites. He was so opposed to this idea, he not only ran from preaching to them at first, but he was even angered when they repented upon his finally doing so. What was so hard for him – and at times, us – to grasp was that it was not up to him to decide who was worthy of God’s mercy. Join us this Sunday as we continue to learn that salvation belongs to the Lord and embrace the truth of what God means when He says, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
