Part-Time Children’s Ministry Director

The Granville Chapel, a growing congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) located in Granville, OH, is seeking applicants for the position of Part-Time Children’s Ministry Director to work up to 15 hours per week, beginning as early as October 21, 2024. The person filling this position will report directly to the Senior Pastor.

Believing that children are a vital part of our covenant family, we are looking for someone who is passionate and committed to partnering with parents in helping these children grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord. Children’s ministry at The Granville Chapel is comprised of our nursery (available during the entire Sunday service), Kids Rock (children’s church from pre-K through 3rd grade during the Sunday sermon), Chapel456 (a ministry to 4th-6th graders that meets once a month), VBS in the summer, and other occasional activities and programs. Responsibilities

·Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers (using Planning Center) to serve in various areas of children’s ministry in accordance with The Granville Chapel’s policies and procedures.

·Produce weekly bulletins for children to use during the worship service.

·Be present on Sunday mornings to greet families, oversee the check-in system, and be available to fill in when volunteers are unable to serve.

·Serve as the co-leader of Chapel456 with the Director of Student Ministry.

·Be responsible for planning and directing the yearly VBS program.

·Organize regular social activities for parents and their children that serve the church’s vision to share our lives and the gospel with others.

·Be responsible for the weekly distribution of all children’s ministry curriculum.

·Be responsible for the purchase and organization of all necessary supplies and snacks.

·Be responsible for the general condition of all children’s ministry spaces in the church facility.

·Work with staff, officers, and other leaders to organize childcare for ministry events and activities as needed.

·Attend weekly staff meetings and serve on various committees as appointed.


Qualifications

·Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a love for His church.

·Be a member of The Granville Chapel (or become a member), and be in substantial agreement with The Granville Chapel’s vision, mission, core values, and confessional standards.

·Possess education, background, and/or related experience in early childhood education and development.

·Possess an agreeable, team-oriented, and compassionate personality that is conducive to working with children and their parents in a church ministry context.

·Possess proven written and oral communication skills.

·Be trustworthy, motivated, and able to work independently.

·Be willing to submit to a criminal background check, as required by church policy.

·Be willing to complete the PCA Children’s Ministries Certification program according to a schedule approved by the Senior Pastor.
